ANCIENT CITIES AROUND MANDALAY
It is located about 11 km south of Mandalay. Amrapura means “the immortal city“. Around 1795 Amarapurya was the site for the 1st British Embassy in Myanmar. The U Bein Bridge is one of the famous built with places teake pasts sponsTaungthaman Lake and the setting on the wide Taungthaman Lake is gorgeous too. The U Bein Bridge is about 1208 meters long and the best time to visit the bridge are just after sunrise or just before sunset, when hundreds of villagers commute back and forth across it. Other interesting places are BagayaKyaung, Pahtodawgyi Pagoda, Kyauktawgyi Pagoda and MahagandayonMonestery( home to over thousand monks renowned as a center for Buddhists study and religious discipline.
