Formally known as Maymyo and it is about 70 km away from Mandalay. It is the one of the most famous hill station cities of Myanmar. It’s cool and nice pleasant weather is the best reason to avoid the heat and dust of the plains. It is also named as Pan-Myo-Daw or Royal flower city by the local because of its variety of colorful flowers growing in abundance all over the town. Highlight places for visitors are Pwe-Kauk waterfall or B.E waterfall, the Dat-Taw-Gyaik Waterfall, the famous Botanical Garden, the Chinese Temple,Peik-Chin-Myaung Cave andthe Gokteik Viaduct ( built in 1903,the second highest railway bridge in the world and also the oldest and longest modern railway bridge in Myanmar).The local market where the hill-tribal are flocking there.
