Thandwe has been a key Rakhaing center for many centuries. When th British stationed a garrison here around the turn of the 20th Century, they twisted the name into Sandoway. Thandwe is the airport city of Rakhaing State, where we can take the flight from Yangon to Thandwe then continue to Ngapali. Thandwe is located about 10km inland to the northeast of Ngapali Beach, and also Thandwe is home to more than 50,000 residents.Thandwe is still being one of the important cities for Rakhaing State.
