Only about hour and a half drives from Yangon. Twante is a small town famous for its ShweSandaw Pagoda, pottery and cotton – weaving and Old-Mon PayaComlex. The journey to Twante is enjoyable, whether you go by hired jeep or ferry. Also you can have a new experience and amusement by charter-trishaw riding to explore the town. There’s a large market in the center of town and 1 or 2 km further from it, you can observe the traditional way of process at the pottery workshop. You can take ferry all the way down to Twante along the famous Twante Canal, which was dug during the colonial era as a short cut across the AyeyarwaddyDelta, approximately three and a half hour journey.
