Package Itinerary

Bagan is one of Myanmar’s most extraordinary destinations, renowned for its vast plain of ancient temples and timeless spiritual atmosphere. Located along the banks of the Irrawaddy River, Bagan was once the capital of the Pagan Kingdom between the 9th and 13th centuries. Today, it stands as one of the world’s richest archaeological sites, with thousands of pagodas, temples, and stupas spread across a wide landscape.

The beauty of Bagan lies not only in the number of its monuments but also in their variety. From grand structures like Ananda Temple to smaller, lesser-known shrines hidden among fields and trees, each site tells a story of devotion and artistic excellence. Intricate murals, stone carvings, and Buddha images reflect the deep influence of Buddhism during Bagan’s golden age.

One of the most unforgettable experiences in Bagan is witnessing sunrise or sunset over the temple plain. As the sky changes color, the silhouettes of ancient spires create a magical scene that feels almost otherworldly. Hot air balloon rides offer a unique perspective, revealing the scale and beauty of the landscape from above.

Beyond its monuments, Bagan maintains a peaceful rural charm. Local villages, traditional crafts, and riverside life add depth to the visitor experience. Bagan is more than a historical site; it is a place where history, spirituality, and natural beauty come together, leaving travelers with lasting memories of Myanmar’s remarkable heritage.

Program:

Start your sightseeing tour at 8:00 AM from your hotel. Bagan is an ancient city with nearly 4400 temples. Upon arrival, we will drive to the colorful and bustling Nyaung Oo local market that gives you a glimpse of the local life as well as the numerous tourist-oriented wares on offer, ranging from t-shirts and woodcarvings to lacquer ware and paintings.

The tour extended to the Shwezigon Pagoda, one of the four most significant buildings in Bagan. Continue to visit the Htilominlo pagoda, famed for its original fine plaster carvings and glazed sandstone decorations, which are remarkably well preserved, before the visit to the Ananda Pagoda, one of the finest, largest, and best preserved in Old Bagan.

During your visit to Bagan, you will also have a chance to see a lacquerware workshop whose birthplace is in Bagan. Finally, visit the Dhammayangyipagoda, Bagan’s largest temple.

Enjoy the sunset from one of the most scenic spots in town and return to the hotel to enjoy your dinner. After dinner, transfer back to your hotel.
