Day 1: Yangon – Sittwe – Mrauk U
Our driver will be waiting for you at the hotel lobby and will transfer you to the Yangon Domestic Airport. Upon arrival at Sittwe Airport, you will be transferred to the jetty for a private boat trip along the Kaladan River to Mrauk U, approximately 5 to 7 hours upstream, while enjoying river life. Check in at the hotel and overnight in Mrauk U.
Day 2: Mrauk U Sightseeing
After breakfast, start sightseeing in Mrauk U, the ancient capital city of the Rakhine Kingdom (15th century). First, visit the city market to see the lifestyle of the local people. This is followed by visits to Pharaouk Pagoda, Mong-Khong-Shwe-Du Stupa, Pesi Paya, Koe Thaung Temple (a shrine of 90,000 Buddha images), Latt Say Lake (an artificial lake with city walls and a gate), and Mahabandola Monastery, which functions like a museum. Then return to the hotel for lunch and some rest.
In the afternoon, visit the massive Shit-Thaung Temple (a remarkably unique temple with 80,000 Buddha images and reliefs), Htaukkhan-Thein Temple, which resembles a fortress, Andaw Temple, Ratanabon Stupa, Laymyathanmar Temple (a four-sided temple), Laungbanprauk Pagoda, locally known as the “Plate Pagoda,” and Pitakataik (a small library). Later, drive to Harritaung Hill to enjoy the sunset before returning to the hotel for the night.
Day 3: Mrauk U Sightseeing
After breakfast, visit Sakyamanaung Pagoda and Ratanamanaung Pagoda. Continue to Thet Village to see women wearing large earrings and observe the different ethnic groups and the Rakhine lifestyle. Then visit the Nann-Oo Buddha Image and Mingalamanaung Pagoda. Return to the hotel for lunch and rest.
In the afternoon, visit the Archaeological Museum attached to the palace site, Latkaukzee Monastery, Lawkananaung Pagoda, and Parabaw Buddha Image. Then drive to Shwe-Taung Hill to enjoy the sunset. Return to the hotel and overnight in Mrauk U.
Day 4: Mrauk U – Sittwe – Yangon
Early in the morning, check out from the hotel and transfer to the jetty to return to Sittwe by boat. Upon arrival, transfer to Sittwe Airport for your departure flight to Yangon. Upon arrival in Yangon, transfer from the Yangon Domestic Airport to your hotel.
