Day 1: Yangon arrival
(Based on morning international arrival flight)
Arrival at Yangon International Airport you will be welcomed by your guide and start your sightseeing; Kyauk Taw Gyi Pagoda; White Elephants; Sule Pagoda; the colonial downtown area where you can see the over 100-year-old Strand Hotel, the beautiful post office, and the British Embassy. It is also the place where you can experience the local life of Myanmar people.
Then, we will drive to Chaukhtatgyi Pagoda, known for the reclining Buddha that measures 70metres in Length. End of the day you can visit the world-famous Shwedagon Pagoda for a breathtaking sunset. Stay overnight in Yangon.
Day 2: Yangon – Bago – Yangon
We will take a morning excursion to the ancient capital of Bago (formerly known as Pegu), 80 kilometers northeast of Yangon.
Visit the interesting Bago Market with varieties of vegetables, flowers, and commodity goods. And then visit the Shwetharhlaung Pagoda, with its giant reclining Buddha, having a history over 1000 years old; the nearby Monastic Education Center; the tour continues to the Shwemawdaw Pagoda, with 114metres the highest pagoda in Myanmar, and walk from there to the HinthaGon Pagoda, the place where Bago was founded.
Late afternoon drive back to Yangon and visit KanbawzaThardy, the old palace of King BayintNaung. the four giant sitting Buddha Images and if time permits a short visit to the HtautKyant War Cemetry. Stay overnight in Yangon.
Day 3: Yangon – Thanlyin – Yangon
(Based on evening international departure flight)
After breakfast, take an excursion to Thanlyin (Syriam), an ancient seaport of Myanmar. Visit KyaikKhauk Pagoda, the large golden pagoda rising on a hillock to the north of the road, Thanlyin Market along the riverside. You can feel the real way of life. Proceed to Kyauk Tan and visit the Yay Le Pagoda set on a tiny island amidst the middle stream of the river.
Then drive back to Yangon. If time permits, a shopping tour to the sprawling old market, built-in 1926, which is named after the founding father of Myanmar, BogyokeAung San(Scott Market), is a veritable shoppers’ delight (closed on every Monday and gazette holidays). Then, you will be transferred back to the airport for your international flight back. Say goodbye to your guide and end the trip to this historical country.
